New Technology

02.25.08

Here’s what we’ll all be using for monitors in the future…..WAY in the future!  The cost is still unbelievably high, but like other technology this new monitor’s price will eventually come down.  Read about it here:  OLED Flat Panel

Camera of the Future

02.21.08

Obviously I enjoy photography, so I’m always looking at the ‘latest and greatest’ when it comes to camera technology. Here’s a sneak-peek at a new camera that will revolutionize the way we take photos. It takes a ‘burst’ of photos at one time, and then you review and choose the best of the bunch. No longer will you have to wait for the ‘perfect’ moment to take that picture….you’ll take a slew and then choose the best! Read more about it here.

25 ‘Must haves’

02.18.08

PC World has recently listed their 25 products that they ‘can’t live without’. Many of them are interesting, but I’ve lived just fine without most of them! See what you think here.

Photo editing

02.14.08

No, I don’t often edit my photos. I’m a bigger believer in getting the right shot the first time. But in the controlled environment that I’m shooting in, that’s not too big a deal. Take me outside or give me an action shoot and it’s a whole different story. So, on occasion, a little editing goes a LONG way. Read about some simple editing that anyone can do here.

Sharing Folders

02.11.08

With LOTS AND LOTS of photos on my drive one of my biggest fears is a hard drive crash.  So I’m a little bit of a fanatic when it comes to backups.  Here’s a really cool utility called Foldershare that I found on the PC World site.  Although you’re limited on the size, it’s still a great way of synchronizing files from different computers. And it’s free.  Try it here.

Gum Graft

01.07.08

This is one that’ll make a few people a little queezy, but the results were SO out of this world great I’ve just GOT to show it!!

This woman was referred to my by the periodontist with one of the most significant cases of recession I have ever seen. She was having moderate sensitivity with these teeth and needed the exposed root surfaces covered for her comfort and their long-term viability.of these teeth. Here’s a look at the patient smiling…doesn’t look too bad, right?  Just wait…

Backup Help

10.18.07

My hard drive recently crashed on my home computer.  No biggie….I had a back up for all the important stuff.  But what I didn’t have was all the different drivers.  After loading most of them I ran across this neat program.  It’s a way to back up the drivers and restore them in the event of another crash.  Check out the article here.

Charlotte Dental Office Remodel

10.15.07

Here’s another view of the same hallway. This wall used to have cabinets that held our sterilization equipment. Since we will have a new modern sterilization area this wall will be resurfaced and painted. It’s the PERFECT spot to show off many of my photographs. When you visit the office make sure to stop and see the photos on this wall!

Dental Office Update

Here’s another view of the back hallway without the ceiling. You can see a ‘left over’ light at the far end, and a speaker hanging precariously from it’s wire.
